Family Support Center
The Arc of Bristol County has provided services for families since its inception in 1959. Our present Family Support Center offers a variety of resources and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families throughout their lifespan. The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS) provides funding for Family Support Services. The Arc of Bristol County seeks and often receives grants to further enhance and develop additional supports and services.
Philosophy
Starting with the belief that individuals and families are the experts, our Family Support Coordinators work with each person to understand their goals, vision, and needs as well as provide individualized supports that will be meaningful to their unique needs. We believe in a team approach that brings a family, their community, and possible service providers together to work on common goals. Our team recognizes that these goals are always evolving and believe in offering flexible supports to meet the ever-changing needs.
